Welcome to Àger with your hosts Amanda and Winston of WEGOFLY
We have prepared this document to answer a few of the questions you may have with your stay here in the Àger valley. We look forward to getting to know you and showing you our little bit of paradise. All may run smoothly or something might go wrong due to forces we cannot control i.e. weather, but we will try our best to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. The magic words to make this a fun holiday are “FLEXIBILITY” and “POSTIVE ATTITUDE”. Please sit back, relax, smile and let us do the worrying. Enjoy the differences…after all, that’s why we travel in the first place.
Can I drink the water? We would recommend that you buy bottled water as your tummy might be sensitive, so please do not take the risk. We have two little Shops that are well stocked. Opening times are listed below.

The locals speak Catalan which is different. We can teach you the basics. It has a French influence so you might hear Merci (thank you) in the shops. More info here on the Catalan way of life

Safety of personal possessions:
Please use common sense in the way you carry your personal possessions. We make no apologies for giving you a reminder throughout your stay about looking after your own belongings. We cannot guarantee their safety so please be vigilant and make yourselves a difficult target. On the other hand we do not want to scare you as Àger seems to be rather safe and quiet.
Shops, Restaurants, Pharmacy and the local Bank: We have a few little but lovely shops.
Forn de Pa: Our local Bakery. Fantastic chocolate croissants and cakes. They do coffee as well.Mon -Thurs 08:30 –13:30. Friday and Saturday 08:30-13:30 and 18:00-20:00 Sunday 08:30-11:00. Located near the main t junction opposite a large Mustard colour B&B. If you are walking out of town to the west its on your left.
Servi Marti: Local contact is “Carmen”. Small but well stocked with the basics. They sell cigarettes. Summer: June-August 09:00-13:30 and 17:30-20:30

Cal Negre: Blue Sun shade outside. Our Bigger shop. Well stocked with the basics and more.

Bar Restaurant “Lo Poble” Local contact is “Josep and his wife”. He is a huge football fan and can be rather abrupt. Please just enjoy the experience as the food is fantastic.

Bar Restaurant “Mirrador del Montsec” Local contact is “Isabel”. Very traditional food.
The main dining area is through the bar and in the back. Open from around 08:00 till 23:30 except on Wednesdays.
Bar Torres: Local contacts are David, Neus, Irena. Located on the main road heading east.
Free wireless internet. Great Tapas and Bocodillos(Bread rolls with a hot or cold topping) Great coffee. Smoking is allowed inside. They close at 23:30 in summer and are closed on a Thursday in Winter. They also sell cigarettes.
La Caixa Bank: Has an 24hr ATM. It allows you to select multiple languages including English. The bank manager is Luis and he speaks basic but good English and is located behind the small desk to your right as you enter.
“Farmacia”: Near the Bakery. Local contacts are Carina and Rosa. They speak some English.
Open Monday to Saturday 09:30 -13:30 and 18:00-20:00. In winter it is 17:00-19:00
Camping Vall de Àger – Owners are Mr. Jose-Maria and Rosa.
Free 24hr Wireless internet. Hotspots are also outside. Good pub grub style food in the evenings after 20:00. You can ask for a salad also. No smoking inside.
We have various other shops including two paragliding shops. We sell gear also.
Telephone calls: Be careful when answering your mobile phone as it could be costing you also. Àger has two pay phones. One in the main street. One at the campsite.
